I love this book. I fell in love with it years ago as a high school student. Now, as an adult, reading this book as a more educated person with a better perspective of history, I see this story in a new way. I see how colonialism and imperialism changed traditions, people, culture, and history.

Thank you for this insightful reflection on the power of rereading. I used to enjoy rereading books every year when I was an English teacher, including Things Fall Apart, but I love your reflection on how very differently you thought about the book after rereading it years later. We change and so do our readings.

I know we used to do these books in the early years. Now, they do not. All these new curricula are moving our students from meaningful literature that cannot only build content, turn help to make our students historically responsive in our changing world.

After rereading this book, I am more interested now to reread other books that I did when I was younger.
